According to Wikipedia, the concept of a Mobile Disco was the brainchild of a certain Mr. Roger Squire who began an entertainment service back in 1966. From there he later set up a disco equipment supply service that sold sound and lighting equipment to budding DJ’s all over the world.
The South Eastern Discotheque Association (or SEDA for short) was formed in 1974 by six like-minded DJ’s in the Tonbridge area of Kent, England with the main aim to promote a better professional approach to the art of mobile DJ’ing. This was later extended to cover all DJs, Mobile, Resident, Radio and Bedroom Mixers.
